We serve in North America and globally.
Since it is not possible to respond to all crises, how does Encompass Crisis Response determine which crises to engage?
While we serve with many Evangelical churches and agencies, crises touching people and churches within our national and global Charis movement are priorities.
We are also very drawn to partners on the ground who are highly intentional in ministering to the whole person, as only the Church can – responding to physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
With so many great crisis agencies already in existence – the Red Cross, Baptist Global Response, and many others – why “re-invent the wheel” by creating another agency?
No one agency, no matter how large and resource flushed it may be, can respond to all crises. When a crisis strikes an FGBC or Charis Alliance community somewhere in the world, that crisis, often not even known by the larger agencies, is known by Encompass Crisis Response and is our priority.
With so many great crisis agencies already in existence – Samaritan's Purse, Baptist Global Response, and many others – why “re-invent the wheel” by creating another agency?
No one agency, no matter how large and resource-flushed it may be, can respond to all crises. While Encompass Crisis Response serves the greater Body of Christ, we also can focus on crises in our Charis “tribe”, crises too localized to garner the attention of larger agencies.
What percentage of a donation actually makes it to the need?
While many agencies work hard to get 70% of a donation to the need for which it was given, Encompass World Partner is grateful that our percentage is usually around 90%.
What types of ministry activities does Encompass Crisis Response engage?
Our priority is to serve and mobilize the Church to serve with God in redeeming good out of hard – “awesome out of awful”.
We have five primary areas of ministry:
- Disaster Response
- Refugee ministry
- Trauma Care
- Prayer Initiatives
- Resources
We do focus not just on going but on equipping and mobilizing to serve in these five areas.
